High Friction Surfacing

Road surfaces are subject to climate variations and constant wear and tear, making them prone to friction loss, which increases the risk of vehicle skidding. High friction surfacing is an innovative solution in our portfolio designed to enhance skid resistance and reduce braking distances.

This is achieved by applying a polymer resin to the road surface, followed by broadcasting a highly anti-skid aggregate on top. The specialised aggregate, which is rough and resistant to polishing, increases the tyre’s contact with the road, ensuring greater frictional resistance. This polish-resistant property also guarantees the durability and extended lifespan of the high-friction surface.

By applying high friction surfacing to areas prone to skidding, the need for short-term resurfacing of concrete or bitumen can be delayed. This provides significant benefits to vehicular traffic by enabling faster braking, better control, and more efficient deceleration.

The system employs a two-component, cold-applied resin, selected for its ease of application as it minimises traffic disruption. It cures quickly and is highly efficient. As it requires no heating, it minimises risks for workmen, while the rapid curing process allows for quicker application, reducing the need for prolonged traffic disruptions.
